a1... wish...
a1If he attempts to enter (the city) of Nirvāṇa with many (beings)...
a1+... the exact distinction named anusmṛti...
a2Now, the matter, having passed...
a2+Through their own senses, their body was brighter than sun (and) moon.
a3Flying animal...
a3+... quickly...
a4Through joy, their bodies prospered.
a4... not...
a4+On the mountains, there was no cleft (or) opening...
a5+... and they were incapable...
a6Then, having passed countless years...
a6+... the king did not give (gift)...
a7The beings in his country were impoverished.
a7+... they brought... to...
a8We, seeking possessions, see him
a8He... our... god...
a8+... I...
b1... his own... the king gave property to him...
b1Through that, live...!
b1+... property...
b2... was good...
b2Why don't we steal?
b2Our...
b2+... in the world...
b3The beings here are afraid of five things:
b3... for their life...
b3+... the moon... after...
b4+80 000 year... life...
b5Then, ... another direction...
b5+... not... thievery...
b6I order now to make a sword.
b6Through that, thieves...
b7The citizens heard:
b7"The king made a sword."
b7Who...?
b8We will now also make swords of our own, sharp ones.

Other

b7Die Leute des Landes hörten: "Der König eben(?) hat sich ein Schwert machen lassen [wtl. hat sich gemacht] [bzw. hat das Schwert gebraucht]". (Schmidt 1974: 427)
b8We will now also make the swords of each of ours sharp. (Peyrot 2013b: 658)
b8Auch wir wollen uns jetzt - ein jeder für sich - scharfe [wtl. harte] Schwerter machen [bzw. machen lassen]. (Schmidt 1974: 428)

Commentary

Linguistic commentary

n1yäsnā: according to Sieg and Siegling 1953: 269 and Thomas 1957: 119 this should be corrected to yästār ‘the double amount each’, but Schmidt 1986: 139 would rather have it supplemented to read yäsnā(meṃ) ‘from the treasuries’.
