Commentary

Philological commentary

*The metrical passage is in the meter bharyacitāk which is 4x12 syllables with a rhythm of 4/4/4. There are no visible pāda boundaries.
n1The reading 〈ma〉 is absolutely safe. This cannot be the end of a preceding word. Therefore it may be a scribal mistake for the negation , or it is an alternative form of this particle in weak position. In fact, the association + ksa is quite common.
n2Here starts a different metrical stanza in the tune käryorttaññe which is 4x12 with a rhythm of 5/7.

Remarks

*The fragment PK NS 31 is completed to the right by the small fragment PK NS 294. The joins are located at lines a2 and a3. The whole fragment belongs to the right part of a large leaf including traces of the string hole. There are traces of ruling.
