Translation
a1 | For that reason, they roused their mind toward buddhahood. Others see great Bodhisattvas in many ways. |
---|---|
a2 | If... donate... the head and both hands (?), they will thus rouse their mind. May we too do this now! They donate to the Buddha... |
a3 | Certainly, the thought... |
a4 | To obtain the body... |
b4 | ... reproaches the good mind... |
b5 | ... the wish cherished for a long time... |
b5+ | the beneficial ones he causes to be ashamed by tricks: mother, father, or the teachers ... |
b6 | He adheres firmly to profit through the deceits of both women (?). the wish for Buddha-rank /// |
b7 | Whichever being doesn't know..., it always breaks its decisions, soft with respect to his mind and sense. Covered by the deeds of earlier births... |
Other
a1 | Deswegen rufen sie bei sich den Gedanken an die Buddhaschaft hervor. (Schmidt 1974: 334) |

Philological commentary
n1 | It is unclear what saṃis doing here. If it is indeed the demonstrative pronoun, it could possibly be compared to certain uses of sa in the vedic Brāhmaṇas, in which the masculine singular is used even though we would expect a different form: sa yadi sthāvarā āpo bhavanti - tāḥ(Śat. Br. 13, 8, 4, 6., quoted in Böhtlingk's dictionary s.v. sa-). |
