Linguistic commentary
| n1 | There can be little doubt that pärkāwse is a variant of (see line a3), which is derived from via the adjectival suffix -ṣṣe. While an alternation between ṣ and s is certainly unexpected in this position, simply attributing this variant to a scribal error is also problematic, since the characters for <ṣ> and <s> look nothing alike. |
