Commentary
Philological commentary
n1 |
toṃ and tau could easily be confused, but only toṃ makes sense in this context. |
n2 |
At the end of the line, one may restore pälkṣantär ‘they burn’. |
n3 |
Maybe to be restored as ṣañ ñem, presumably ‘by oneself’, see // s· araṃśne salāte-ne • kUcatākmeṃ ṣañem ette ṣallāte • ‘… hüpfte in ihrem Herzen, [und] sie stürzte sich vom Söller herab’ (THT 109 b2; tr. Schmidt 1974: 279, 311). |
n3 |
This translation of caṅke will be justified in a forthcoming publication. |
