Commentary

Philological commentary

n1In their edition, Sieg and Siegling 1921: 207 tentatively suggest a reading (e)ṣantāṃ. While it would fill in the context, based on the already attested forms of this ptc., we may expect *eṣäntāṃ rather than **eṣantāṃ
n2For the translation of śka tampeṣiṃ and paräṃ ñkät, see tje correspondent entries in Carling and Pinault 2023

Linguistic commentary

n3The form āñcāl instead of āñcālyi (also śla āñcālyī) is rather unusual in TA, but it is attested in TB as añcāl ṣärne vel sim.
