Philological commentary

The metre down to stanza 114 is: 21/21/18/13: a-b = 8/7/6 or 8/6/7 (mostly 5+3 + 4+3 + 6), c = 9/9 (4-5/4-5 or 7-7-4), d = 7/6 or 6/7.
Afterwards we have: 4 x 12 (5/7 = 5 + 4+3).
In the following the contents are about the conflict between the good Law and the false views and rituals of the heretics, i.e. brahmanic ascetics. This explains the resort to Uv 31.28, which refers to people who are hesitant about their own belief.
n1 Given the fact that we have a 2. singular at the beginning of the line, -star should belong to a 2.sg. middle present/subjunctive verb form.
n3 The colophon can be restored as: udānalaṅkārne cittavārggä[n]tse (wate pāke). The existence of a finite verb meaning ‘is finished’ (āra) is not certain because similar colophons may lack it. One should keep in mind that the lacuna contained also the name of the following meter.
n4 The word tsätkwañceṃ ought to be an oblique plural masc. It can refer to false doctrines as well as to their followers.
n5 ykne ought to be the second member of a compound meaning ‘in the manner of xy’.
n6 The last word is the ritual syllable om, written according to its mystical analysis into the three components a, u, m. Interestingly enough, this syllable is also called oṃkāra- lit. ‘om making’, so that the rendering with TB yām- is justified on a Sanskrit model.

Remarks

The fragment has the two different press marks PK AS 6G and PK NS 22. Note that it is one and the same fragment with two numbers and not the joint of two different ones.

Linguistic commentary

n2 poyśi-käṣṣīṣṣe should be constructed as a compound adjective derived from the phrase poyśi käṣṣi, and this adjective qualifies the next word sūtär. poyśi- itself cannot be taken as an independent word, the derived adjective would be poyśiññe ‘pertaining to the omniscient’.
