Philological commentary
n1 | ṣmareṃ ṣareṃ: Ogihara reads here ṣmareṃ ṣ(m)areṃ, saying that the m "may be covered by a displaced piece of paper" (Ogihara 2011: 119-120). In my view, this cannot be correct, since there is simply no piece of paper there. More likely is a mistake of the scribe, who wrote ṣma...ṣa...ṣa instead of ṣma...ṣma...ṣa. On the other hand, Ogihara's interpretation of the passage is convincing. |
