Commentary
Remarks
Philological commentary
n1 | – [l]·k·nä –\ : the reading of the l is particularly uncertain. On the assumption that the final part if a loc. in -aṃ followed by the emphatic particle -k, one might consider a reading (spa)l(t)k(a)nä(k) 'in zeal'. |
n2 | tāmā: between these two akṣaras one akṣara, obviously k·, has been wiped out, apparently deliberately. Ignoring this akṣara, the word division seems to have to be tmäṣ tāmā eṣäk. eṣäk may be construed with the perl. or the loc.; here the perlative of sām 'she' is used. |
n3 | : cf. aghaniṣṭabhavaṃ A 265 a5. |
n4 | tsaräny(o): This reading follows a suggestion of Ilya Itkin (p.c. 18 November 2015). |
