Commentary

Philological commentary

*The leaf belongs to a Sanskrit manuscript containing āryās from the Upālisūtra of the Madyamāgama; on the verso side of this leaf one has a Sanskrit jagatī praising the donor of the manuscript; see Waldschmidt 1971: 124-123. According to K.T. Schmidt apud Waldschmidt 1971: 124-123, fn. 9, the Tocharian colophon is a "Schreiberzusatz, der in keinem ersichtlichen Zusammenhang mit der vorangehenden Skt.-Strophe steht".

Remarks

*The Sanskrit donor text on the verso side is complete so that it must have been written onto the already damaged leaf, as per Heinrich Lüders apud Waldschmidt 1971: 122, fn. 3. The Tocharian colphon has been written again by a different hand with a brush.
