Commentary
Remarks
|
In one frame with A 408.k-A 408.r. The left margin is preserved. Although this fragment is not edited by Ogihara 2009, I think that täṣne directly preceding a number (see also A 408.o a1) can also be taken as an indication that this fragment belongs to the Bhikṣuṇī-Prātimokṣasūtra. Further, line b2 seems to be parallel to THT 322 b1, b2 (Ilya Itkin, p.c.). Therefore, it is assumed that it belongs to manuscript A 415-416, not to A 406-408. |
Philological commentary

[s̝]ma: the next akṣara could be l; a restoration ṣmä(l) is possible. A 3sg.prs. ṣmä(ṣ) is less likely. |
n2 |
(la)p wipäsmāṃ ane: This line seems to be parallel to THT 322 b1, b2, which would imply that wipäsmāṃ means 'shaking', not 'making wet', as I suggested in August 2012. I owe this new interpretation and the restoration to (la)p to Ilya Itkin (p.c., 14 April 2015). |
