Commentary

Remarks

*The faint text that appears on both the recto and the verso shines through from the other side; it is not an imprint from another fragment.

Philological commentary

n1: cf. Uv30.28b.
n2: cf. Uv30.29b. The preceding nt· can hardly be a rendering of chitvā of Uv30.29a sarvā hy āśāstayaś chitvā. Possibly it is the final of the translation of āśāstayas 'desires'.
n3: cf. Uv30.30a.
n4: cf. Uv30.30d.
n5: cf. Uv30.36b kāmapaṅkaughatāriṇām. kerek(au)n(a) renders °ogha°; kätkaucañ or a similar form renders °tāriṇām.
n6: cf. Uv30.37a.
n7: cf. Uv30.37c akhilaṃ taṃ sukhinaṃ sadā viśokaṃ.
