Commentary
Philological commentary
| n1 | Normally waṣamñe. Since -ṣṣ- often gets simplified to -ṣ- in late texts, waṣṣamñe is best explained as hypercorrect. |
| n2 | Pinault has po s·äṃ [p]ai [k]a, but I can't really see the '[k]a'. Besides, his transliteration as ka [rt]i is probably incorrect, since the top of the 'ta' looks pretty much like the top of the 'tse' in me ña tse, so it must be 't/n·i'. I have looked through CEToM and came to the conclusion that the only word that would fit here is kanti 'bread', and paika would not really fit well with that word. |
