Commentary
Only the plural is attested, most likely a noun of the type , yoko, so nom.sg. warśo is theoretically possible as well.
;The basic meaning is 'undergrowth, thicket' and has in m-sip1 b 4 the sense of 'non-penetrable path, dead-end road' (= Skt. kāpatha-). Accordingly, Krause's interpretation "Büsche" in Krause 1952: 179 is basically correct, "(Hoch)fläche" and "orchard" as quoted or proposed in Adams 2013a: 630 is not likely. The gloss "(Hoch)fläche" in Thomas and Krause 1964: 238 seems to be based on the Sanskrit parallel of THT 338 a 1 Skt. vanaprastha-.
