Commentary

Philological commentary

n1This line is obscure. Broomhead has kete kenne lyitālle, which he translates as "... of which ... is to be dropped to the ground ...". However, the alleged "ke" in kenne is pretty clearly a re. For lyinālle, cf. the entry li(n)- in Adams 1999.
n2Filliozat/Broomhead read aśpakāntä here. This is impossible. The akṣaras simply do not look like that.
n3Filliozat/Broomhead: kuralä. But the akṣaras are illegible and kuralä isn't really a known word.
