Commentary

Philological commentary

Only contains a single strophe number (59); recto and verso side are not to be clearly determined, nor is the metre with any certainty, and, as in the fragments to follow, a continuous translation is impossible.

Remarks

The original manuscript is missing, but was a small fragment, damaged on all edges. Line a1 is lost.

Linguistic commentary

n1 In p .calle the c could also be read as v, so that, perhaps, it might be supplemented to p(k)valle = pkwalle ‘that which then [is] to be taken as [possible] to be led [away], they led [away]’.
n2 Perhaps supplement (grahanmas=eṅku) ‘like the moon grasped/gripped (by the Grahas) does not emit cold beams’.
