Translation

a1 In the Pañcama-tune: Here, someone who is firm and desirous, is not reliable and (in truth) not firm (at all). If he wants desire, there is suffering of longing. After having received it, there is suffering of guarding. Thus, it is the duty of the good one to not feel desire again.n2

Other

a1 (调寄)Pañcama: (Zhao and Rong 2020: 144-145)
: 1 (Zhao and Rong 2020: 144-145)

Commentary

Philological commentary

The transliteration has been taken from Zhao and Rong 2020: 144-145.
The transcription has been taken from Zhao and Rong 2020: 144-145.
According to the editors, prakre is skr. dṛḍha- 'firm, strong' and eṅkäl is skr. (saṃ)rāga- 'greed, desire'.
n1 According to the editors mā aikne.
n2 The editors translate this as (The desire of the world) is not the duty of the good one. He considers love as secondary. However, in this case, it would be difficult to say what the infinitive yāmttsi depends on.
