| n1 | -syo is the end of an instr. pl., probably (yetwe)syo 'with ornaments'. |

| n3 | The meter has most probably 4x15 (7/8) syllables, according to Siegling, pers. copy. |
| n4 | The passage refers to the first and second births of the Bodhisattva: he started as a woman named Rūpāvatī who gave up her life in order to feed a starving woman and renounced her female sex becoming a man afterwards; the Bodhisattva was then reborn as a prince named Rūpāvata. This story culminates in a5 in a prompt to be as generous as these previous beings. |
| n5 | Since the sign ‹ṣä› is on the same level as the following akṣaras of the line and since there is no trace of virāma, we prefer to read ṣäṃ. we- has to belong to a disyllabic form because of the meter, a probable restoration would be we(yeṃ) 'wonderful, amazed'. |
