Left part of the leaf, the margin is not preserved, but traces of the leaf number 1xx are seen inside the string hole space on the verso side written by a different hand. |
Philological commentary
n1 | Siegling proposed the restoration (sät)k(ār)tsā in his notes p. 27 on the basis of #ERROR#ref b3. |
---|---|
n2 | The original text most likely had omäskenäṃ with the fremdzeichen ‹na›, since this is a rare sign, the scribe miscopied it taking it for ‹śa›; ptāñktā is a metrically reduced form of perl.sg. ptāñäktā. The little piece at the end of the line has been wrongly glued here. The rest of the original sign before this is compatible with the reading ma or pa. |
n3 | The edition in Sieg and Siegling 1921 proposed to read [ṣa]t\ akmalyo, which would be supported by #ERROR#ref b3, #ERROR#ref a2 and #ERROR#ref a5. The phrase ṣät-akmalyo is recorded in Poucha 1955: 339. But this reading is impossible in the manuscript, which rather shows [ṇa]. This does not allow for a plausible interpretation. The most likely hypothesis, then, is that it was miscopied from ṣat. |
n4 | Siegling in his notes restored to (ts)itoräṣ; likewise Couvreur 1956: 77. |
n5 | nant is the end of an adjective, fem.nom.pl. |
