Commentary

Remarks

Transcription and references have been transferred from the "Text and Reference Database of the Tocharian A Language" (Gerd Carling Lund University) (funded by the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation and SCAS).
Transcription and translation are based on Carling et al. 2009.
Recto and verso are mislabeled.
As pointed out by Ogihara 2017 and by Itkin 2024: 10-11, fragments A 128 and m-a130 belong to the same folium (n. 202) of manuscript A 89-143.

Parallel texts

The story of Mahādeva, which is preserved in this Tocharian fragment, has parallels in Pali (e.g. "Makhādevasutta/Maghadevasutta", MN 83; "Maghadevajātaka", Ja 9), Chinese (e.g. T 0026), and Tibetan (see Anālayo 2013: 4-5 for further references).
