Commentary

Burlak and Itkin 2000: 35 propose to correct the name to Kerc{ä}pey, since this name is likely to be based on kercapo 'donkey,' as kercapiśke. One has to assumes a slight error of the scribe, as in āśaṃryāśi instead of āśäryāśi gen. pl. of āśari* 'master' in A 371 b2 (see also Carling et al. 2009: 56). But the derivation isn't very clear, therefore it is better to preserve for the time being the attested form.
