Commentary

Philological commentary

*It's not entirely clear wether this document is secular or not, but since it seems to mention the Śaṅke, I classify it as secular.
n1This seems to be the allative form of śaṅke. However, since Śaṅke has an oblique plural śaṅkeṃ, śaṅk would be a rather unexpected oblique singular. Maybe this is a different word entirely?
n2The usual form would be palyka. However, depalatalization is common in the secular corpus, cf. the nominative plural ending -ṃ (instead of -ñ).
